The polymer grip module mounts to a forged steel frame that features an ambidextrous thumb safety and an integrated Picatinny rail while the 5-inch heavy bull barrel is fitted to a forged steel slide that employs AOS (Agency Optic System) plates designed exclusively for the 1911 DS. Machined from billet steel each plate is designed specifically to deliver proper optic height for an intuitive sight picture and features an integral rear sight.
